to the first WUB Scholarship Endowment Fund recipient Mary Nakada from
Peru! Mary arrived in Hawaii on August 5th, 2006 and is studying at the University of Hawaii's East-West Center.

We are pleased to report that the Worldwide Uchinanchu Business Association Scholarship Endowment Fund has raised over $75,000. The first WUB Scholarship Endowment Fund recipient Mary Nakada from Peru is currently at the East-West Center participating in the APLP (Asia Pacific Leadership Program).
The following WUB chapters have contributed to this fund: WUB Hawaii, WUB Maui, WUB Okinawa, WUB Tokyo, WUB Peru, and WUB North America. We thank the chapters who have contributed and expect that the other chapters will also support this scholarship program to help more young people in the Uchinanchu community worldwide study in an international environment at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The WUB scholarship will be available again next year (2007). We are asking the WUB chapters to recommend potential candidates for this scholarship. The deadline is February 15, 2007.

The status of the WUB Endowment Scholarship Fund will be discussed at the WUB International board meeting in Okinawa after the 4th Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival (October, 2006).
